Lamb burger, beef kofta and the Nonòs burgers at Judd Street

Grilled plates and white wine on a wooden table at Nonòs Judd Street, King's Cross

Skewers and lamb chops get most of the attention at Nonòs, but the grill does more than souvlaki. At Nonòs Judd Street, our Greek Mediterranean kitchen and bar at 112 Judd Street, London WC1H 9NT, five minutes' walk from King's Cross St Pancras, the burgers and kofta are worth knowing about when you want something hearty on one plate. Tina put it well: The food, especially anything off the grill, is so flavourful and fresh and the portions are generous. (Tina, Google review).

The Nonòs lamb burger

This is the Greek one: a grilled lamb burger with lettuce, tomatoes, tzatziki and grilled halloumi, served with fries. The tzatziki keeps it fresh and the halloumi adds that salty, squeaky bite. If you've only had lamb as chops or skewers, it's a good way to try it differently.

Beef kofta

Grilled beef kofta, served with salad, fries and a side sauce. Kofta is also part of the Mixed Grill Feast, so if you've had the feast and liked that part best, this is the plate to order next time. Pair it with a dip from the mezze list: tzatziki, tyrokafteri (spicy feta and red pepper) or melitzanosalata (smoked aubergine and roasted pepper).

The Nonòs beef burger

For the classic route, there's a grilled beef burger with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, red onion and burger sauce, with fries.

A vegetarian burger with halloumi

The Nonòs vegetarian burger has chargrilled mushroom, roasted peppers, onion, tomatoes, lettuce and grilled halloumi in a toasted bun, with fries. It can be made vegan, so the whole table can order burgers.

About those fries

Every burger comes with fries, and they're more popular than you'd expect. One guest wrote: Really pleasantly surprised with the crispy homemade freshly cut chips. (M. C. D., Google review). For an upgrade, order the Greek feta fries or halloumi fries from the sides.

“Compact open kitchen which looked very clean and well run.”

What to drink with it

A Mythos (330ml or 500ml) is the natural partner, or Peroni, London Pride or Peroni 0%. Wine drinkers can try the Greek Agiorgitiko & Syrah from Nemea. Lucy enjoyed the whole visit: Great food and service from Aron and Arlind. Highly recommend, lovely atmosphere. (Lucy, Google review).
