A Greek salad is one of those dishes that tells you a lot about a kitchen. Ripe tomatoes, crisp cucumber, good olives and a proper slab of feta with olive oil: there's nowhere to hide. At Nonòs Judd Street, our Greek Mediterranean kitchen and bar at 112 Judd Street, London WC1H 9NT, the salads are a full lunch in their own right, not a side you feel obliged to order.
The Greek salad
Ours is the classic: tomatoes, cucumber, onion and Greek olives, topped with herbs, pepper, feta cheese and olive oil. It's vegetarian and gluten-free. It also comes with the lamb chops and the Mixed Grill Feast. Danny's order is a good template: had the spinach and feta filo parcels for starter, and the lamb chops and Greek salad for mains
(Danny T., Google review).
Beetroot and feta salad
Beetroot, pomegranate and feta, listed with the mezze. It's sweet, salty and sharp at once, and it's vegetarian and gluten-free. Order it as a starter for the table or pair it with hummus and pitta for a light lunch.
Chicken Caesar and salmon Caesar
If you want more protein, the Classic Caesar Salad is grilled chicken, lettuce, garlic herb croutons, soft-boiled egg and parmesan with Caesar dressing. The Nonòs Salmon Caesar swaps the chicken for salmon.
Make it yours with add-ons
You can add to any salad:
- Avocado, £3.50
- Grilled halloumi, £3.50
- Chicken, £4.50
A Greek salad with grilled halloumi is one of the simplest good lunches near King's Cross.
Build a light lunch from the mezze
Salads go well with a couple of small plates: hummus, tzatziki, Greek olives, dolmades (vine leaves filled with rice, tomato and herbs), or gigantes beans baked in tomato sauce. Ezio was won over by one of them: Personally, I had never tasted such a delicious hummus before.
(Ezio S., Google review).
“the GF items are very clearly marked! The staff is very aware of allergies”
Tess R., Google review, July 2026
Drinks for a lighter lunch
Freshly squeezed orange juice, a smoothie (Avo Go Go, Detox Zing or Berry-Licious), a freddo espresso, or a glass of crisp Makedonikos white or Retsina if the afternoon allows. Lee summed up a recent visit: Great food, service and vibe
(Lee, Google review).
